Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

Account details: your name, email address, and phone number if you give it.

Listing details: your car's VIN, mileage, condition answers, photos, asking price and ZIP code. If you verify ownership, the photos of your ID and title that you upload.

Messages: when a buyer contacts a seller, the buyer's name, account email, optional phone number, the message and any replies from either side.

Mechanic checks: the partner shop's ratings, notes, measurements and photos, including photos of the VIN plate and odometer.

Payments: when you unlock a report, Stripe processes your card. We receive confirmation of the payment, not your card number.

Usage: pages viewed, listings saved and basic device information, used to run and improve the site.

2. How we use it

To show listings, deliver messages between buyers and sellers, attach mechanic reports to listings, and process report payments.

To calculate fair-price estimates. We send a car's VIN, mileage and ZIP code to vehicle-data providers for this; we don't send your name or contact details.

To keep the site safe, for example by checking listings and messages for signs of fraud. Some of this uses AI services that process the listing text and photos.

To email you about your account, your listings, messages, a report you asked for, and whether your car sold.

3. ID and title photos for ownership checks

If you choose to verify that you own a car, you upload a photo of your driver's license or ID and of the car's title.

These images are processed by an AI service (OpenAI) to read the names and VIN, so we can check that the name on your ID matches the title and your account, and that the VIN matches your listing. The AI service receives the images through links that expire after a few minutes and may not use them for any other purpose.

The images are stored privately in your own folder. They are never shown on your listing or to buyers, shops or other users; only the result (a "Verified owner" badge) is public.

We delete the images on request. Email privacy@zerodealer.ai and we'll remove them within 30 days.

4. What others can see

• Listings are public: photos, vehicle details, price, city and the mechanic check's 8 ratings. The VIN is partly hidden.
• Sellers' email and phone are not shown. A buyer's message goes to the seller's ZeroDealer inbox and by email; the seller decides whether to reply.
• The full mechanic report (notes, photos, measurements, cost estimates) is shown only to the seller and to buyers who unlock it.
• Partner shops see the listing details for cars they check, and how many times their reports were unlocked.

5. Who we share it with

Service providers that run the site for us: hosting and database (Vercel, Supabase), payments (Stripe), email (Resend), AI processing (OpenAI) and vehicle-data providers. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.

Authorities, when required by law or to protect people from fraud or harm.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account and listings while your account is open. Sold and expired listings, and the reports attached to them, are kept so buyers who unlocked a report can still see it. Sale prices you report are used only in aggregate to check our price accuracy.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Mechanic-report photos, ownership documents and uploaded history reports are stored privately and shown only through links that expire.

8. Your choices

You can edit or delete your listings from your dashboard. To get a copy of your data or delete your account, email privacy@zerodealer.ai and we'll respond within 30 days.

9. Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising cookies.

10. Children

ZeroDealer is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account.

11. Changes and contact

If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for important changes, email account holders. Questions: privacy@zerodealer.ai.
